Cosmedicon 2022 – Raising the Bar on the Ethics of Skincare
Our very own Adj. Ass. Professor Elissa O’Keefe spoke to a packed room at the world-renowned medical conference, Cosmedicon this month held in Sydney’s gorgeous Double Bay.
Elissa chaired a panel for leading advanced nurses in Australia. The discourse centred around patient care and safety, and the latest in skincare and the cosmetic medicine industry.
Clinical experts, including NP @kbaesthetix spoke on advanced techniques for skin rejuvenation using both cog and PDO threads for the face and body. There was an update from the Aesthetic Medical Emergency Team, the Cosmetic Nurses Association and three upcoming nurse leaders had the opportunity to present their first ever conference paper!
Elissa advised the audience on the benefits of having a blog for both business promotion and as a strategy for building confidence for novice writers. She also flagged the importance of being a published author when nurses voice their expertise in aesthetics, particularly with regard to influencing policy.

Elissa had the opportunity to share current trends, whilst also educating the future advanced practice nurses and nurse practitioners of Australia.
