Which Cleanser Should I Choose ?

Cleansing is arguably the most important step in a skincare routine. It removes impurities and preps the skin for the rest of the skincare products, in order to get all the benefits from them.

Choosing a cleanser is just as important as finding the right serum or moisturiser. It’s essential to pick a face wash that is suitable for your skin type.

A good cleanser will be gentle, non-irritating and won’t leave your skin feeling sticky or stripped from its natural oils.

Whether you have dry or sensitive, oily or combination, acne- or redness-prone skin, there’s a cleanser for everyone out there and we’re going to take a look at some of the face wash types.

Cream Cleansers

Cream cleansers are really gentle on the skin and they leave a luxurious, hydrating feel to it. They have silky texture and remove most types of makeup including mascara.

Normal, dry and sensitive skin types will benefit the most from using a cream cleanser. The Cream Cleanser from Science Skincare is suitable even for compromised and dehydrated skin, thanks to hydrating ingredients like Shea Butter and Rosehip Oil, anti-inflammatory Chamomile and Aloe Vera and the antioxidant vitamins A, B, C and E.

Gel Cleansers

This type of cleanser is often suggested to people with combination/oily or acne-prone skin because of the lightweight texture but it can be a good choice for normal and sensitive skin, as well. It purifies the skin but it’s still gentle enough to not dry it out.

It leaves the skin feeling fresh and moisturised at the same time. The Carbon Cleanser from Science Skincare (pictured) has organic exfoliating fruit extracts to decongest pores while the charcoal attracts the oil and dirt to clear inflammation and prevent bacteria.

Mild Foaming Cleansers

These are not the typical foaming cleansers from the past that we connect to skin feeling tight or dry (think of the free ones you get with popular perfume purchases, ugh!) .

The mild foaming cleansers are often gel cleansers that create a slight lather and it mostly comes to texture preference of people with oily and acne-prone skin. It gives a feeling of purified and fresh skin minus the stripping.

Science Skincare’s Gel Cleanser is a light foaming face wash that thoroughly cleanses the skin while supporting its barrier repair at the same time. It can be also used by people with sensitive and reactive skin, as it’s really gentle and soothing, thanks to Organic Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and D-Panthenol.

All Science Skincare cleansers are sulphate-free to protect your skin’s barrier and to prevent damaging, irritation and dryness.
